| Hever Castle |
It was 9 o`clock when my mum woke me up; I rolled over. Then she said “David we’re going to Hever Castle!” My attitude changed, I got up, climbed down my ladder and started to get dressed; walked downstairs and ate without speaking. I knew that Hever castle was owned by the Boleyn family and was built in the 13thcentry plus I also particularly like the design. After my family had finished eating we went into our car and drove to Hever Castle.
I pushed open the car door to see a beautiful lawn and a huge garden with a path filled with trees. When I walked closer I could see the castle in the distance it was an amazing piece of architecture it had huge strands of vines on it’s humongous front that had been carefully made by stacking bricks and adding a lime mortar to the gaps. My sister was beginning to feel peckish so we walked to the Hever Castle restaurant and ate fish and chips with orange juice.
When we had all finished eating, we slowly walked towards the castle with our ice creams. After passing oddly shaped lawns and the moat we were at the entrance of the castle. There was a lady in a scarlet dress, wearing a Pearl necklace, who I recognised was trying to look like Anne Boleyn. A while later and we were walking into the dining room which had a rather long table and 14 chairs along it. When we had finished looking at the dining room we moved to the higher floors and heard the historian talk about Anne Boleyn’s marriage to King Henry XII.
When we returned to the fuzzy warm atmosphere outside, we walked towards the fantastic water maze were Alex and I played for some time until mum and dad told us that we had to go. Alex and I reluctantly walked towards the car and said goodbye to Hever Castle.
