| My radio |
It was November 8th – my birthday, I had just finished getting dressed and was waiting in anticipation for a signal for me to open my presents, that my mum and dad had given me. When I heard little footsteps I knew that that was my sister, so I could open my two presents.
The first was a small but sharp magnifying glass that had two lenses one of them had a 30zoom the other one had 60.But the second present was an amazing build your own radio kit! A while later, after an open evening I asked my dad if I could build the radio he said yes but the first thing we had to do was set up the solder, by taking it out of the storage cupboard and putting it on my table.
When we had finished we took out the PCB (printed circuit board) and started to solder the (homemade) coils on the correct position on the PCB. After looking at the diagram we added the six resistors, two capacitors, two transistors and the D1 varactor diode after this the PCB was fully equipped.
After we had finished wiring the two potentiometers, speaker and antenna, the radio was to test. I rushed down stairs to grab two AA batteries, put them into place then I started to get a signal , I tuned into FM then it worked!
